Learning Objectives for Journeys Below the Line: Lost The Cinematography Team
Goal
This program is designed to give information to people who might aspire to television jobs related to cinematography and also to those who want to learn more about the overall TV production process.

Objectives
People who have viewed this tape should be able to:
- List the jobs held by the people who constitute the cinematography team.
- Understand why is it advantageous to have alternating directors of photography.
- Identify some of the challenges camera operators face when shooting, especially in Hawaii.
- Delineate the responsibilities of the 1st assistant and the 2nd assistant.
- Give examples of why it is important for dolly grips to hit their marks.
- Explain the difference between a gaffer and a grip.
- Discuss some of the things that need to be done when live shooting must be integrated with visual effects.
- Determine the amount of teamwork needed by the people involved with cinematography and give examples of how each position plays into this teamwork.
