Goal

This program is designed to give information to people who might aspire to television jobs related to props and also to those who want to learn more about the overall TV production process.

Objectives

People who have viewed this DVD should be able to:

  • Enumerate personality qualities that are likely to make for successful property masters.
  • Define the major duties of property people.
  • Discuss a likely daily routine for those working with props.
  • List types of items that are usually considered to be props in a medical TV series. Property Master Rick Kerns checks the neck brace of a “patient.”
  • Comprehend how prosthetics are constructed and why they are needed.
  • Determine how teamwork goes into a television production and how property people play into that teamwork.
  • Identify how props are constructed so that they add to the safety of a stunt performance.
  • Understand how props people accomplish their job when they must undertake prop placement while the camera is running.
