LEARNING OBJECTIVES FOR THE VIDEO

Goal
This program is designed to give information to people who might aspire to become an editor or a script supervisor and also to those who want to learn more about the overall TV production and post production process.

Objectives

People who have viewed this tape should be able to:

  • Define the major duties and responsibilities of television editors, assistant editors, script supervisors, and post production supervisors
  • Determine whether or not they would be interested in the job of editor or script supervisor
  • List some of the people that the editors and script supervisor interact with on a regular basis
  • Assess the importance of continuity to the script supervision and editing processes
  • Articulate some of the political problems that people involved with editing might encounter in their work
  • Identify major steps that need to be taken to make sure the right length of program is finished in time for airing
  • Explain an editor’s involvement with sound
